Zulo revolutionizes the fragmented streaming landscape into a cohesive, tailored entertainment journey. Through comprehensive user-centered design methodologies and strategic feature orchestration, we developed an innovative OTT platform that emphasizes intelligent content curation over mindless navigation, delivering streamlined browsing experiences with meaningful utilities that genuinely elevate the viewing ecosystem.

Problem Statement

The OTT landscape struggles with excessive feature complexity and convoluted navigation systems. Users dedicate 40% of session duration to content searching rather than actual consumption. Our comprehensive research involving 24+ streaming users identified three fundamental friction points: cluttered content presentations that trigger decision paralysis, concealed utility functions that demand immediate accessibility, and fragmented interaction paradigms that disrupt established user mental frameworks. The objective involved crafting a distinctive experience that streamlines content discovery while delivering sophisticated personalization capabilities.

Utilities: Downloads, My List, Reminder System


Intelligent utility integration engineered around authentic user behavioral patterns. Downloads functionality incorporates predictive recommendations derived from commuting schedules and viewing analytics. My List transformed into flexible curated collections featuring collaborative sharing capabilities. The notification system delivers contextual alerts across synchronized devices, ensuring users consistently track new episodes and exclusive premieres. Each utility provides comprehensive visual feedback and operates seamlessly offline, reinforcing the mobile-first entertainment experience.





Player


A gesture-intuitive video player that vanishes during immersive viewing and materializes when users require functionality. Double-tap navigation for skipping, pinch gestures for quality optimization, and adaptive menus that surface subtitle and audio configurations exclusively when contextually appropriate. The player retains user preferences across viewing sessions and delivers haptic responses for essential interactions, establishing a tactile entertainment experience specifically optimized for mobile consumption patterns.




Typography & Color


Strategic chromatic psychology influences user decision-making: vibrant red (#FF2D55) generates immediacy for 'Watch Now' interactions, while dependable blue (#007AFF) reinforces navigation and auxiliary functions. The dark-prioritized color framework minimizes visual fatigue during prolonged viewing sessions. Typography hierarchy employs SF Pro Display for high-impact moments and SF Pro Text for extended readability, ensuring optimal clarity across device variations while sustaining premium brand positioning.
